Where To Go Ice Skating in Lyon During the Christmas Holidays

Want to take your little ones ice skating this Christmas? Here are our top picks.

Place Ambroise Courtois

Going ice skating at Place Ambroise Courtois is a great way to spend a festive day. With the ice rink situated just next to the Christmas market, you can get your skates on, then recuperate with some mulled wine at the market.

This ice rink will stay open until 6th January 2019, and is just a few steps away from Monplaisir-Lumière metro station. It’s open every day from 10:30am until 8pm, or until 9pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

Ice skating for one hour costs 4€, including skates, or 3€ for under-26s, seniors, and job-seekers.

Croix-Rousse

Another outdoor ice rink is found in Croix-Rousse’s Christmas market. It’s not the biggest ice rink, but like at Place Ambroise Courtois, its proximity to a Christmas market makes it a great place to pass a few hours, on a date, as a family, or just on your own!

Indoor Ice Rinks

If you’d prefer an indoor ice rink, then head over to the rink at Charlemagne or the one at Baraban. But check before you go, as both ice rinks may be susceptible to closures due to strikes up until December 31st.

Charlemagne is an impressive rink, able to host up to 4200 people. Charlemagne and Barbaran have the same tarifs. Tickets are 6.90€, or 3.80€  if you bring your own skates. Reduced tarifs are 5.40€ or 2.30€, respectively.
