Lyon’s Long Distance Running Event
The Product of Lyon Ultra Run
Lyon Ultra Run, a non-lucrative association, was created by a group of running-lovers, wanting to get the Lyonnaise into running. The association is behind the much-loved Lyon Urban Trail, and Lyon Urban Trail at night – two of Lyon’s most famous races.
Lyon Ultra Run especially wishes to spread the love of long-distance running, by which they mean anything over marathon-length.
The Ultra Boucle de la Sarra is Lyon Ultra Run’s ultimate highlight. It’s made for those who, like the creators of the organisation, just can’t get enough of running.
6 hours, 12 hours, or 24 hours…
Just what are you made of? What can you handle? Find out at the Ultra Boucle de la Sarra by choosing to run for 6 hours, 12 hours, or maybe even 24 hours.
But beware! If you choose to run for 12 or 24 hours, it’s all up to you and your legs. The 12 hour run starts at 5pm on Saturday 18th May 2019. The 24 hour run kicks off at 11pm on Friday 17th May 2019.
“But I could never run that long!” If you find yourself saying that, you should opt for the 6 hour course, as you can share the running with another two or three people, as a relay. This race departs on the Saturday at 5pm.
Discover Fourvière Hill
Fourvière hill is truly beautiful, and all three circuits allow you to discover the landscape. All the courses lead you through the Parc des Hauteurs (Piste de la Sarra, Chemin du viaduc, montée Nicolas de Lange).
There will be many kinds of surfaces, from paved roads, to cobblestones, to stairs and grass!
2018 – A Great Year
Running can truly be enjoyable – and that’s what Lyon Ultra Run wants to emphasise. Last year’s participants in the Ultra Boucle de la Sarra 2018 agreed. Less than 4% of participants say they definitely wouldn’t do the race again, and the large majority of runners rated their experience a 9 or 10 out of 10.
