A Celebration for All the Family

From dance and music to shared meals, fireworks and military parades, the whole family can celebrate Bastille Day 2019 together.

The military parades kick off at 5:30pm on July 13th at Lyautey square in Lyon 6. The parades bring together 300 soldiers, 40 vehicles, 26 motorbikes, 8 planes and 3 helicopters.

Bal des Pompiers to Party

The firemen will be holding their own celebrations this Bastille day, with the Bal des Pompiers.

The Bal des Pompiers takes place in several locations across the city (July 13th and 14th): Confluences (Place des Archives) from 9:30pm, Lyon 7 (3 Rue De La Madeleine) from 9:30pm, Croix-Rousse (120 Rue Philippe de Lassalle) from 9pm, Lyon 3 (78 rue Pierre Corneille) from 9pm, and Villeurbanne (31 rue Georges Courteline) from 8pm.

Fireworks from Fourvière Hill

Like with New Year’s Eve, fireworks are a key part of Bastille Day celebrations. From 10:30pm on 14th July, fireworks will light up Lyon’s skies.

Set off from three sites across Lyon: parc des Hauteurs, the gardens of the ECAM and the conservatoire terrace, the fireworks can be seen from most parts of Lyon. Many residents flock to the quays of the Saône to see the fireworks.

Fireworks will also take place in Lyon’s surrounding towns the day before, on July 13th. Locations include  Villeurbanne, Caluire, Vaulx-en-Velin, and Vénissieux.
