High Attendance at This Year’s Fête des Lumières

The display at Le Parc de la Tête d’or attracted huge crowds.

The figures are out for the 2018 Fête des Lumières: it attracted a massive 1.8 million visitors over four nights, with the Parc de la Tête d’or proving to be the real star of the show.

Highlights of This Year’s Fête des Lumières

The Parc de la Tête d’or was the most popular display, luring 230,000 visitors through its gates.

Other displays also drew in huge crowds. 80,000 people went to admire the patriotic Tricolore display at the Hôtel de Ville, whilst 70,000 visitors went to the Grand Hôtel Part-Dieu to see its eclectic display of strobe lights.

An International Affair

The 2018 Fête des Lumières pulled in locals and tourists alike. 100,000 tourists flooded Lyon for the festival, with the 5 most represented countries being Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
