The Transbordeur music club kicks off summer with free concerts and apéros
One of Lyon’s most popular music venues, the Transbordeur (3 Boulevard Stalingrad, Villeurbanne), kicks off its “Summer Sessions” June 27, with weekly concerts and aperitifs.
Repurposed ocean shipping containers set the scene on the Transbordeur’s outdoor terrace, where the club will host international artists for intimate concerts and graphic arts shows through the month of July.
Free concerts are held every Wednesday starting at 7 p.m., while paid events are Fridays at 8 p.m. and run from €8-15. Thursdays at 7 p.m. are the apéros, featuring magazines and artists for visual and graphic arts displays.
With everything from pop to rock to electro, the Summer Sessions lineup includes Irène Drésel, 1954, Le Petit Bulletin, Baja Frequencia, Route du Rock, Nova Lyon, and many more. Places can be reserved on the Transbordeur’s website.
Summer Sessions at the Transbordeur is part of the City of Lyon’s “Fêtons l’été” program, which offers events every day of the summer in all the arrondissements of the city. The program runs from June 21 to September 2 and includes concerts, sports, arts, cinema, intro sessions, one-time and recurring events. The full program can be found here.
