The Course du Coeur 2019
Run for the Benefit of Others
The Association des Médecins et Pharmaciens du Coeur is a charity run by health students at the university Claude Bernard Lyon 1. The association organises various events across the year.
The money generated goes towards children hospitalised at the IHOP (Institut d’Hématologie et d’Oncologie Pédiatrique). The money tends to pay for games and activities, as well as outings for the children and their family, for an afternoon or weekend, letting them escape their normal hospital routine for a short space of time.
The Course du Coeur is one of such events organised by the association. At only 7-9€ for an entry ticket, it’s well worth getting involved.
There will be two races on the day – one will be 6km long, one will be 12km long. The 12km race starts at 10:30am whilst the 6km race starts at 10:45am in parc de Gerland.
The first 10 winners will be rewarded, as well as the person in the most inventive fancy dress (which is warmly encouraged!)
At the end of each race, there will be a refreshment stall, along with a tombola.
Bring the Whole Family
The event will be completely family-friendly, as during each race, at the cost of 3€, you can leave your children in the creche. At the creche, the children will have lots of fun. There will be a treasure hunt, a face painting workshop and lots of other games.
If the children want to get involved, they can too, as there will be a 1km children’s race with the association’s mascot Lapinou! The race starts at 12h15 and entry costs 2€.
What’s more, the event is open to any form of disability, and pushchairs are also allowed.
