Les Dimanches de l’Île Barbe fill July with free outdoor theater and concerts
Les Dimanches de l’Île Barbe run from July 8 to July 22 this year on Lyon’s resident island in the middle of the Saône in Lyon 9. The Sunday programs offer casual outdoor theater as well as classical and jazz concerts.

This is the event’s 20th year, and shows will take place July 8 from 3:30-9 p.m. and July 15 and 22 from 3:30-8 p.m. Families and friends are invited to come picnic on the historic island’s lawn and stick around for the shows as the evening goes on.
Les Dimanches de l’Île Barbe is part of the City of Lyon’s “Fêtons l’été” program, which offers events every day of the summer in all the arrondissements of the city. The program runs from June 21 to September 2 and includes concerts, sports, arts, cinema, intro sessions, one-time and recurring events. The full program can be found on the website.
