From food to sports, a selection of great things to do in Lyon in September 2018
As Lyon is the capital of gastronomy, we have selected several events around food, such as the Fête des Ecaillers at the Halles de Lyon offered by five oyster sellers.
This weekend of September 15-16 promises to be a very busy one in Lyon
Don’t miss the third edition of the Lyon Street Food festival, organised over 3 days this year at Les Subsistances, where famous chefs from Lyon and the rest of the world, sometimes starred by the Michelin Guide, are invited to cook in the grand Hall.
The same weekend, traditional « Journées européennes du Patrimoine » (Heritage days) focuses on Lyon’s traditional culinary culture. This year’s “Le Goût en Partage” offers a varied program from cultivated land to the finished product throughout Lyon and its suburbs.
This weekend of September 15-16 promises to be a very busy one as there will also be the famous Biennale de la Danse parade. If you are a tourist or an expat, don’t miss this great party which gathers 300.000 spectators and 4500 dancers in the center of Lyon every two years.

There is also the first edition of Mad’Jap that brings Japan-inspired and -created manga, cosplay, food, and video games to Lyon for a weekend of pop and geek culture.
If you want to take your time, we advise you to visit several exhibitions: Andy Warhol at the Museum of Printing (until September 16), Yokainoshima at the Museum of Confluences and « Leonardo Da Vinci, inventions of a genius » which begins La Sucrière on September 13.
