In time for the holiday season, Arts Pente’s 360° sur L’Art presents Marche de Créateurs, a market of wonderful unique products made from over 60 creators from around Lyon. Set up down the Rue Louis Vitet and into Place Sathonay, it is focused on helping Lyonnais with their Christmas shopping, with a pleasant atmosphere of live music and food-trucks to complete the setting.

Laugh at Old Disney Shorts with L’Orchestre National de Lyon

In the spirits of the great silent Disney animations of the early 20th century, l’Orchestre National de Lyon will play host to a self-described “Silly Symphony Célébration.” of seven classic Disney silent shorts over 3 performances with the Lyon Orchestra providing the soundtrack. From the Three Little Pigs, The Ugly Duckling, and The Skeleton dance, each of the seven will be played back to back over three cine-concert experiences.

Have A Very English Christmas with Concert de l’Hostel Dieu

This Advent, The choir of the celebrated ensemble Concert de l’Hostel Dieu, under the leadership of conductor Florent Mayet, the choir is set to preform proper English choral hymns and dirges at the Chapelle Du Lycee Saint Marc. Perusing through music from the Renaissance to more modern 20th-century pieces, all in the spirit of harmony with the Anglosphere.

Renaissance painter Giuseppe Arcimboldo, world-renowned for his tableaus of food & everyday objects orientated within the picture plan to give the illusion of being humans subjects. In the same spirit as the Marché L’art in Place Sathonay, two Christmas markets will also open in Place Carnot (near Perrache metro) and Place de la Croix-Rousse (outside Croix-Rousse metro) with assortments of products ranging from food, clothing, jewelry and accessories made from artisans from throughout France and the greater EU.

The Marché de Croix-Rousse also boasts to be the only covered market in the whole of Lyon, perfect place to enjoy bonbons or a proper vin chaud and get away from the cold.

For a taste of the avant-garde, Lyon’s Théâtre des Célestins welcomes American actor and illusionist Geoff Sobelle and director Lee Sunday Evans with their absurdly poetic play Home. Marketed as “At the crossroads of laughter and poetry.”, this modern piece of spectacle theater mixes dance, illusion and live music to create a wild viewing experience.
