A French café with an Australian Accent in Valmy area
Aussie Frenchi: my go-to spot in Lyon for a delicious cup of coffee and an appetizing meal with a good vibe.
Who can say no to fresh ingredients and a warm friendly welcome? Located approximately 10 mins from métro Bellecour, hop on métro line D for 3 stop to Valmy, and look out for the turquoise storefront with the adorable koala and visible stone interior, 15 Grande Rue de Vaise (Lyon’s 9tharrondissement).
Aussie Frenchi, a story of friendship
More than 7 years have passed since Maxence and Mickaël first crossed paths in Australia.
Throughout his adventure, Maxence discovered a passion as a career barista and Mickaël always had a desire for entrepreneurship.
The two friends joined their forces to create “The House of Coffee” Aussie Frenchi, a warm and cozy space where friends and family come together over a tasty breakfast/lunch, a good cup of coffee, and discover the different coffees of the world.
A shared vision of life and honesty are their foundation of friendship.
Aussie Frenchi, simple and fresh ingredients at an affordable price
Open for business in Lyon Tuesdays to Sundays for breakfast and lunch, Aussie Frenchi offers both à la carte and breakfast/lunch menus that include a beverage and/or dessert.
Breakfast is served until 11am on weekdays and 1pm on Saturdays. Make sure to order and pay at cash when you arrive and they will gladly bring it to your table once ready.
Come as you are: hangry or craving a delectable snack, there will be a tantalizing meal to satisfy your appetite.
From homemade crepes and pastries, bacon and eggs, quinoa salad, avocado toast, bagel sandwiches and gluten-free crepes with buckwheat, breakfast items start at 5€, salads at 9€, bagel sandwiches at 6€ and galettes at 7€.
Being a huge fan of bacon and eggs, L’English Touch is my weekend guilty pleasure.
The bacon is crispy and the egg is done just right. The Red Chaouche is a house favourite of mine that never disappoints: avocado puree, chicken, grilled bacon and a fried egg with a mixed salad and house vinaigrette.
It checks off all my criteria for what a sandwich should be: savory, tangy, and texturally enticing.
Aussie Frenchi, a delightful treat
Using simple and fresh ingredients, baking their bread in-house, and offering generous portions, Aussie Frenchi serves simple yet quality dishes all throughout the day.
A quick getaway from Lyon city centre along the Saone River, treat yourself to various coffee beans from the different regions of the world, taste the food made with heart and bon appétit!
