The AOC Crozes-Hermitage returns to Lyon this summer to take over La Plateforme for four Wednesdays full of wine, workshops, and tapas.

La Plateforme péniche (4 Quai Victor Augagneur, Lyon 3) hosts the AOC Crozes-Hermitage every Wednesday night from July 11 to August 1 for wine tastings and workshops.

Wine & Transat” unites the appellation with the chefs of L’Encart to turn the riverside barge into a wine and tapas bar, serving up top wines by the bottle or the glass alongside tapas and grilled platters. It runs from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. and entry is free.

The series also offers workshops and meetings with the appellation’s wine-growers. The workshops are held at 7 and 8:30 p.m. with Triovino wine cellar’s sommelier Tristan Ringenbach, who will turn attendees into wine experts by the end of the night. Talks cover topics like pairing wine with cheese, meat, and fish as well as the impact of soil and temperature on wine development.

Meetings with wine-growers are held at 7:30 p.m. A Lyonnais wine-seller or sommelier will be joined by two AOC Crozes-Hermitage wine-growers for tastings of four wines paired with tapas.

Workshops cost €10 for the 7 p.m. and €8 for the 8:30 p.m. Tastings are €14. Reservations are required for both and can be made online.
