The 2018 Market Will be Themed in the Style of the 90s
The Vintage Fashion Market, or Marché de la Mode Vintage, has been a Lyon staple for the past 17 years, bringing all aspects of vintage and vintage-inspired fashion to the people of Lyon. This year’s event returns to the futuristic Confluence district at the Sucrière (47-50 quai Rambaud, Lyon 2).

The ultra-modern building stands juxtaposed to the market, which will focus on 90s-era fashion, in both runway and streetwear forms. Bringing back the Dr. Martens and denim jackets of the Saved by the Bell and Friends era, the Vintage Fashion Market will take over La Sucrière in an explosion of 90s fashion, art, décor, and music.
Vintage Pieces and New Designers
170 exhibitors will gather to showcase their wares, including JM Retro, Quiche! Friperie de bon gout, Cukier Puder Vintage store, Les pieces vintage, 20 ans d’âge, La Sergerie sneakers, Ninkimag and la Ligue de la Sneaker. The market is divided into two main sections: authentic vintage fashion and inspired-by-vintage pieces.
In addition to the clothes, the market will also host runway shows by the fashion students, food booths, an expo on the evolution of fashion from the ’50s to the ’90s, retro gaming, DIY workshops, roundtable discussions, and an MMV Awards Streetstyle Contest for those attendees who dress in their best 90s outfits.
The market will even have a “photo booth” wall, with brick features, graffiti, and neon lights, perfect for taking an Instagram photo. And the first 5000 visitors each day will get a free tote bag.
