Test your skills or learn to rollerblade for free at the Palais des Sports in Gerland
Head to the Palais des Sports from June 30 to July 8 to test out some new roller sports or brush up on old skills, with activities for pros and beginners alike.
The week leads up to the European Roller Hockey Championship at the Palais from July 5 to 8, the first time the championship has ever been held in France.
Each day includes free intro courses for all disciplines of roller, including roller hockey, rink hockey, roller derby, and freestyle. Intro courses run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
There are also tons of pro events happening throughout the week, like the Lyon Roller Club Gala on July 1 from 6-9 p.m. which includes demonstration shows for all the roller sports the club offers.
There’s also the International Junior Roller Hockey Tournament from June 30 to July 1 and the International Team Derby Match on June 30 from 7-11 p.m. Meanwhile, the championship kicks off July 5 and tickets run from €8-40.

Roller Week is part of the City of Lyon’s “Fêtons l’été” program, which offers events every day of the summer in all the arrondissements of the city.
