The Fête National “ball” takes place on the quays of the Saône between Pont Maréchal Juin and Pont Bonaparte in Lyon’s 2nd arrondissement starting at 9 p.m. Spectators can come dance to different kinds of music at stages lining the river.

The firework show begins around 10:30 p.m., above the pillars of Fourvière. The theme for the year will be revealed shortly before the event.

Meanwhile, fireworks will take place in Lyon’s surrounding towns the day before, on July 13.
