Fête Nationale Fireworks Ball on the Banks of the Saône July 14

The annual fireworks show is accompanied by a festival along the river

 

The Fête Nationale celebrations in Lyon include music, dance, and, of course, fireworks.

 

Celebrate France’s Fête Nationale in Lyon on July 14, when the banks of the Saône are taken over by music, dance, and a fireworks show.

The Fête National “ball” takes place on the quays of the Saône between Pont Maréchal Juin and Pont Bonaparte in Lyon’s 2nd arrondissement starting at 9 p.m. Spectators can come dance to different kinds of music at stages lining the river.

The firework show begins around 10:30 p.m., above the pillars of Fourvière. The theme for the year will be revealed shortly before the event.

Meanwhile, fireworks will take place in Lyon’s surrounding towns the day before, on July 13.
