“Attable,” a new food festival of culinary creations, will take place across the 7th arrondissement of Lyon on March 14-18, 2018.
The festival will host a lineup of celebrated chefs from Lyon and greater Europe in five locations throughout the 7: À la Piscine, Mama Shelter, Café Sillon, Le Bistrot du Potager Gerland, and En mets fais ce qu’il te plait.
A New Era of Lyonnais Cuisine with Attable
The goal of Attable is to create a collaborative space for chefs to cook together and experiment, combining new flavors and ideas to bring Lyon’s food into the 21st century. It will include classic Lyonnais specialties alongside dishes from around the world.
The festival is the brainchild of the association Arty Farty and cultural project Grand Cuisine, in an effort to refresh Lyon’s food scene. These two organizations realized Lyon was trapped between two great eras of cuisine, that is, the past and the future.
Faltering under the weight of legendary cooks such as Paul Bocuse and the Mères Lyonnaises, the world capital of gastronomy needed help finding the cuisine of the present.
Attable: A Prototype of Experimentation
Calling their festival a “prototype” of Lyon’s new era of cuisine, Arty Farty and Grand Cuisine have brought in 40 chefs from across Europe to lift Lyon out of its rut. These include 5 Mains’s Grégory Cuilleron, and Michelin-starred Takao Takano and Christian Têtedoie, among others.
A full list of chefs can be found on the Attable website.
